Omaha Hold’em

Omaha Hold’em is one of the most common Poker games available online. Omaha Poker is inspired by the classic Texas Hold’em card game; the only difference being two additional hole cards.

It comes in various versions and can be played in more than just one way. In this variation, every player fights to win the pot with the best high hand.

There is also the Omaha 8-or-better. In this variation, the pot is divided into 2, one for the best low hand and the other for the best high hand. For you to qualify, you must have 5 different cards in your hand that are ranked either 8 or lower, hence the title 8 or better.

Game Rules: Omaha Hold’em

Omaha Hold’em borrows a lot from original Texas hold’em community game. The notable difference is that you will get four hole cards instead of the two that you receive in Texas Hold’em.

Your main aim is to beat other players by forming the highest hand using 2 of the hole cards paired with 3 of 5 cards from the board. The same blind rules and dealer in Texas Hold’em are present in Omaha Poker. Also, just like in any other Poker game, you have a chance to bet, call, raise or fold while on any round.

Players get 4 pocket cards before a pre-flop betting round. After betting is complete, 3 cards will be placed at the centre by the dealer. Another round of betting ensues and the dealer deals the fourth card, also known as the turn. A final round of betting then takes place and the dealer will deal the fifth and the last card, also known as the river. Players that are still in the game advance for a showdown.

How to play  Omaha Hold’em?

During the game’s showdown, all players will be required to disclose their hands in order. Normally, the player that placed their bet last will be the one to show their cards first. if no one place a bet before the showdown, the player that sits clockwise to the button will show their cards first.

The hand with the highest value wins the pot. Should a tie exist, the pot will be split in two. It is also worth noting that all hands should be made from the two hole cards as well as three community cards.
